Cast on 39 sts. on L20 - R19 with scrap
and ravel.
Knit 16 rows at MT.
Knit a Turning Row: Knit 1 row at T9 OR make a picot row.
Knit your choice of sock top below
Fairisle Top:
Knit 16 rows of fairisle pattern at MT plus 2 clicks. (Make sure
you turn the fairisle pattern upside-down.)
Such as Brother patterns: #43-Rows 7-14; #69-Rows 10-1; #71-Rows

Lace Top:
Knit 2 rows at MT. Knit 12 rows of lace pattern at MT minus 2
clicks.
Such as Brother patterns: #111 or #164
Knit 2 more rows at MT.
Mock Ribbed Top:
Transfer every other st. to an adjacent needle and leave empty
needles out of work. Knit 16 rows at MT.
After knitting the sock top:
Hang hem picking up sts. from scrap. Knit 1 row at T7.
Decrease 1 stitch on the left side.
Knit the sock:
RC000 - Knit 12 rows decreasing 1 st. every 4 rows 2 times. (34
sts.)
Shape Heel: [COR] Set carriage for Hold and put all needles left
of -0- to hold.
Knit 1 row.
Put 1 ndl. next to carriage in HP every row until there are 7
ndls. left in WP.
On the same row that you put the last ndl. on carriage side in
HP, put the 1st ndl. opposite the carriage in WP.
Continue to put ndls. in WP until all 17 ndls. are in WP. When
you put the last needle next to -0- in work, wrap yarn around
the first needle in hold.
Knit 15, 17, 19 rows depending on the length of sock desired.
Shape toe the same as the heel. [COL]
Take carriage off Hold and knit 1 row across all sts. Scrap off.
JOIN TOE: Hang toe sts. back on machine with right sides together. Pull 2nd set of sts. thru the 1st set of sts. and bind off. Sew side seams together. If desired, Kitchener stitch the toe seam together.
When you knit the other sock, start with the carriage on the left and reverse the shaping directions.
