WATERTOWN? Neva W. Alberts, age 86, resident of Anna Nitschmann Apartments in Watertown, WI, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Watertown Memorial Hospital. She was born on the Town of Farmington on Dec. 20, 1917, daughter of Gustave E. and Ida (Voeltz) Pitzner. She graduated from Johnson Creek High School and Whitewater State Teachers College. She was married to Hugh Alberts on June 6, 1941, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Farmington; he preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1989. She had taught in rural schools in Jefferson County. Neva and her husband owned and operated an apple orchard of approximately 900 trees near Johnson Creek. Their orchard was named after their three daughters, "REBEKA" Orchard. They enjoyed rural life and liked to watch things grow. Neva was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Watertown. She enjoyed music and gave piano lessons for over 20 years. She also enjoyed being a homemaker and raising flowers. Her baking skills were a part of her everyday life. Neva is survived by 3 daughters: Kathleen (Loren) Rausch of Algoma, Rebecca (Michael) Nicklin of Bozeman, MT, and Beth (Richard) French of Centreville, VA; 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Pitzner of Watertown and Marge (Gates) Slattery of Davenport, IA; a special friend, Earl Lehmann; 8 grandchildren: Lisa (Ryan) Voigt, Stephen Rausch, Natalie Rausch, Andrew Rausch, Ian Nicklin, Kemp Nicklin, Dan French and Zach French; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh Alberts; and a brother, Eldyn Pitzner. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Watertown, WI, with Reverend Michael Jensen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Johnson Creek. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the CHURCH.
