In 1702, 'Thomas Burnham, Gent.,' received his appointment as Lieutenant from 'Joseph Dudley, Esq., aptain General and Governour in Chief in and over Her Majesties Provinces of the Massachusetts Bay in New England in Amerca.' He owned much real estate in Ipswich and Chebacco which was divided between sons Thomas and James.
