Round, John (b. ABT 1645, d. 7 OCT 1716)

Note: According to one tradition, John Round may have immigrated to America from the Isle of Wight, on the England Channel off the southern coast of England. Another tradition states that he originated in Wales.

Extensive search by H.L. Peter Rounds has been unable to verify which tradition, if either, is correct. We do know that he probably came from somewhere in the British Isles. The first record of John Round in America is when his name appeared on a quit claim deed dated 23 July 1689 in Swansea, Mass.
