Note: In 23 Aug 1789, Roswell married Lois Kelsey in Stockbridge, Berkshire, Mass.
In 1796, Roswell appears on a list taken from Brookfield, Madison Co., NY Town records as an early settler.
In 1800, Roswell is living in Brookfield, Chenango. NY [later Madison Co.] census with 3 females and 2 males under 10 yrs. old, as well as a female [prob. his wife] 26-45 yrs. old.
[Pioneers Of Madison Co., NY] says Roswell Haskins settled in Brookfield in 1796 along with Josiah Rathbun and Nathaniel Haskel. "Haskel" may be misspelled since the History of Almond says Nathaniel Haskins died in Madison Co. in 1805. Roswell is listed as "Roswell Horskins" who lived in Brookfield and was a Lieut. in the Militia in 1796. Also, listed is "Isaac Horskins" who lived in Brookfield and was and Ensign in the Militia in 1796.
About 1803-1806, he migrated to Allegany Co. along with Micah, David, and the widow of Nathaniel. He died soon after moving to Allegany Co. He is not listed on the 1810 census and his will written 7 Sep. 1808, was filed about that time. He was 42 when he died and he refers to his very young children.
In April 1808, Roswell was elected as Overseer of the Poor for Alfred, Allegany Co., NY

Note: On the 1830 census Micah J. N. was living in Almond, Allegany Co, NY next door to Micah Haskins and David Haskins. Living with him are: 1 m. under 5; 1 m. 20-30; 2 f. under 5 and his wife [30-40]. The male living with him, age 20-30, might have been a relative, not a son.
On the 1840 census Micah J. N. was living in Independence, Allegany Co, NY, with 1 male 20-30. Pamelia did not name any children in her will in 1867. If they had a son as the censuses indicate, he may have received his inheritance from his father while he was alive or he may have died before 1867.
In 1850, Micah & Pamelia were living in Independence, Allegany, NY. "merchant" with property valued at $40,000. An Emily Wilcox, age 14, was living with them.
In 1827, when the estate of Lois & Roswell Haskins was settled, Micah J. N. bought the land owned by Roswell from the heirs.
Micah J. N. had bought land from his father, Micah, in 1827.
Micah J. N. has numerous land purchases recorded and he apparently thought of himself as a land baron of sorts, but Pamelia's will directs that the proceeds of her estate are to pay off all debts created by her late husband and if there is any residue, it should be divided among her relatives. Micah J. N. sold a piece of land to Horace Cobb in 1865.

Census: 1 m. 10-15; 1 m. 15-20; [David] 50-60; 1 f. under 5; 1 f. 5-10; 1 f. 10-15; [wife] 40-50
In 1840, there was a David Haskins was in Almond, Allegany Co. NY living next door to Michael [prob. Micah] Haskins, Enos Seward, Enos Seward, Jr. and Tarbal Whitney.
Census: 2 m. 20-30; [David] 60-70; 2 f. 10-15; 2 f. 20-30 and [wife] 50-60 This is consistent with the 1830 census.
Given his approximate age, he is probably the same David Haskins mentioned in the History of Allegany Co. who migrated to Almond about 1803-1806.
