Willard Charles Gaffney, 86, of Beloit, WI, died Friday, March 20, 2009 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born September 15, 1922 in Oxford, WI, the son of Arthur and Eva Lettic Gaffney. Willard came to Beloit to work for Sears Roebuck. They sent him to Chicago to school to learn how to repair televisions and other electrical equipment. He worked for Sears 32 years. Willard married Lorraine Foat on January 30, 1942 in Oregon, WI. He was a very loving husband and father to three children. Willard loved to play golf, bowl and play cards. He enjoyed going to the Grinnell Senior Center to play pool and cards. They were always so helpful and kind to him.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Lorraine Gaffney; three children, Diane Hansen, Preston Gaffney and Dawn Barber; and several grandchildren; brother, Howard Gaffney. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Eldon Gaffney and sister, Edna Lang. Willard requested to be cremated by Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, and there be no services.
