The first clearing in the Haskinville area was made by Alexander Kelly, J. Rider and Wright Haskin in 1818. Wright Haskin opened the first tavern in 1836. The hamlet of Haskinville grew around the old tavern near the head of Neils Creek.
Wright owned land in Troupsburg, Steuben, NY in 1853.
Around about 1818, Wright bought land in Middlesex, Ontario Co. [later Yates], NY from Isreal Green and later sold it to Gideon Salisbury. In 1819 he appears on the tax rolls, but his name is crossed out.
In 1818, Jeduthan Fuller also lived in Middlesex, Yates, NY. Yates County borders Steuben Co., NY.
