Haskin, Russell F. (b. 7 MAY 1921, d. 25 OCT 2008)

Note: On the morning of October 25, 2008 Russell Haskin, Sr. died peacefully at Mountain View Manor in Yreka, California with his daughter by his side.

Russell was born on May 7, 1921 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Charles and Lena Haskin. He met and married his beautiful wife Elaine in 1940 and they had 65 wonderful years together before she died in 2005. They moved to Modesto, CA in 1950 where they remained the rest of their lives. Russ worked as a heavy duty mechanic for over 40 years in the Modesto area and he and Elaine enjoyed spending their retirement years golfing and traveling in their motor home.

He was a 50 Year Member of the Operating Engineers and the Masonic Lodge #206 of Modesto. He also was a member and officer in the Elks Lodge B.P.O.E #1282 and the Old Fishermen’s Club.
Russell was a wonderful husband; father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend to anyone who knew him. He was an avid golfer, boater and dancer and enjoyed traveling across the states. He was fortunate to spend several winters of his retirement years golfing in Apache Junction, AZ.

Russell leaves behind his son, Russell F. Haskin Jr., of Modesto and his daughter, Linda Carlin of Yreka, California, as well as his sister Martha Schlander, from Modesto, his grandchildren, Cheryl Finnegan, Brenda Elder, Jeff Carlin and Mark Carlin. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews as well as being blessed with nine great-grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elaine, all of his brothers and sisters, Fred, Margaret, John, George and Alice.
