Note: Roger Clarence Walvoord Roger Clarence Walvoord, 84, son of Clarence Walvoord and Fern Rogers Walvoord, died, after a brief illness, on October l0, 2007, at his home in Williston, Vermont. Born in Edinburg, Ohio, Roger served in WWII in the US Army Air Force, then returned to Ohio State University to earn a BA in Agriculture. He worked for Ohio Extension Service in Madison County, managed Producers Livestock, and worked for AO Smith Harvestore in Ohio and California. Since retirement he has lived in Vermont. He was predeceased by his first wife, Inabel Mayhew, and his sister, Rose Anne Hastings. He is survived by his wife of ten years, Doris Cooley Walvoord; a brother Wilbur of Sabina, Ohio; a sister Margaret Steele of Sonoma, California; three children: son, Thomas Walvoord, of Cherry Hill, N.J., twin daughters, Rebecca Valley and Kathryn Curtis, of Cincinnati, Ohio; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A service was held at Vermont Veterans Cemetery on October 15, and tentative plans have been made for a memorial service next summer at the family plot in Edinburg. (RC 11/18/2007)

Note: Lloyd J. Walvoord, 86, of N1509 Highway 32, Oostburg died peacefully and went to be with his Lord on Saturday morning, March 10, 2007, at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Lloyd was born on November 23, 1920, in the Town of Holland, the son of the late Elmer and Esther (Prinsen) Walvoord.
He graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1938.
On December 28, 1945, he married the former Marion J. Meerdink in the Town of Lima. Lloyd was a dairy and crop farmer in the Town of Holland for 47 years before his retirement in 1985.
Lloyd was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening, his apple orchard, raising many animals and crops on his farm, playing cards with family and friends, visiting and telling stories. Lloyd was always helpful to those in need and particularly cherished the time he could spend with his grandchildren and other family.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Marion; four daughters, Jean Steinhardt of Plymouth, Barbara (Wayne) Claerbout of Gibbsville, Donna (Jerry) Schneider of Sheboygan Falls, Mary Lou (James) Roethel of Oostburg; four sons, Kenneth (Jeanne), Roger, and Randall (Linda), all of Oostburg and Gary (Robyn) Walvoord of Kansasville; 16 grandchildren, Michael Steinhardt, Julie (Kent) Kowitz, Jim (Dawn) Claerbout, Amy (Mike) Rogers, Theresa (Dennis) Egerer, Ryan (Jessica) Walvoord, Eric, Aaron and Andrew Schneider, Benjamin and Nicholas Walvoord, Katie and Jonathan Walvoord, Angela (Fianc?' Ben Wendorf) Roethel, Michelle and Grant Roethel; ten great grandchildren, Andrew, Tanner, and Rachel Kowitz, Jonathan and Brooke Claerbout, Mikayla Rogers, Kaitlyn and Shawn Egerer, McKenna and Madyson Walvoord; one sister-in-law, Doris (Ken) Carlson of Wadena MN; and one brother-in-law, Glenn (Sharon) Meerdink of Toledo, OH. Lloyd is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Walvoord; two sisters, Dorothy (Wallace) TenPas and Evelyn (Howard) LeMahieu; and one brother, Earl (Nelda) Walvoord.
Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove at 10:30 am on Friday, March 16, 2007, with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima.

Note: Evelyn J. LeMahieu, 84, of 119 S. 6th Street, Oostburg, and a resident of Sheboygan Senior Community since November, departed this life to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.
Evelyn was born on June 11, 1922, in the Town of Holland, the daughter of the late Elmer and Esther (Prinsen) Walvoord. She attended Wisconsin Memorial Academy for two years and then graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1939.
On August 17, 1945, Evelyn married the late Howard P. LeMahieu who preceded her in death December 28, 1985.
She taught at Oostburg Public Schools and the Oostburg Christian School for many years. Evelyn loved children and always tried to go the "extra mile" to personally touch each student and be a Godly example to her students, parents, peers, and friends. Evelyn's faith and the Christian heritage of her family were very important to her.
She was a faithful member of Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg. She loved to attend In-Depth Bible Studies, participate in the Crossroad Prison Ministry, and lead the Rebekah Society. She enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, and cherished the time she could spend with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, David (Lynn) LeMahieu of Hortonville, WI; one daughter, Sandra (Marvin) Moorlag of Willmar, MN.; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Koranda, Jeffrey (Erin) LeMahieu, Matthew LeMahieu, Nathan LeMahieu; Scott (Liza) Moorlag, Michael (Sarah) Moorlag, and Ryan (Carrie) Moorlag; and seven great grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Koranda, Kyrie, Phoenix, and Lyric LeMahieu, Ella and Carter Moorlag. Evelyn is further survived by one brother, Lloyd (Marion) Walvoord of Oostburg, and three sisters-in-law, Eunice Simmelink and Antoinette DeMaster who both reside at Pine Haven Christian Home, and Eleanor LeMahieu of Oostburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, John A. LeMahieu; one sister, Dorothy (Wallace) TenPas, one brother Earl (Nelda) Walvoord; and three brothers-in-law, Al Simmelink, Earl DeMaster, and Ray LeMahieu.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, at the Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Oostburg, with the Revs. John Tinsley and Gordon Oliver officiating. A family service will precede in the fellowship hall at 9:45 am. Burial will follow at Oostburg Cemetery.
