Eleanor Olson, age 81, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in the comfort of her own home with her daughters by her side. Eleanor was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Kalamazoo, Mich., the daughter of Walter and Lila (Marsh) Lang. In March 1942 she married Jack Olson in Kalamazoo. He preceded her in death in July 2003. Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Jill (William) Gaffney of Atlanta, Ga., and Sally (Alexander) Bracken of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Betsy Hecht of DeLand, Fla.; and her grandchildren, Josh, Andrew and Ryan Gaffney, and Sarah and Betsy Bracken. She was also preceded in death by her oldest grandson, Will Gaffney. Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Wisconsin Dells, with the Rev. Steven Keller celebrating. Her cremains will be interred at Spring Grove Cemetery, Wisconsin Dells.

Bass, June Mabel (b. 1 JUN 1919, d. 24 FEB 2004)

Note: June Bass, 84, of La Crosse died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Jackson, Wis., on June 1, 1919, to William and Grace (Evans) Bass. June had worked at LaCrosse Footwear for 40 years.

June is survived by two sisters, Lula Fisher of Wisconsin Dells and Margaret Bass of Madison; two brothers, Bernard Bass of Madison and Floyd Bass of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Verna Bass, Marion Nelson and Elizabeth Leege.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse. Chaplain Dean Staffanson will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be given to the North Side Community Garden.
