Note: Charles E. Pike, 80, of 89 Meadowbrook Blvd., Fond du Lac, died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.
He was born on May 29, 1928, in Oxford, Wis., the son of Freeman and Octa Wohlfert Pike.
On April 19, 1952, he married Barbara Schleicher. She preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 1974.
On Oc. 12, 1975, he married Margaret Nafziger.
Chuck was an elder at First Presbyterian Church where he was also involved with the endowment committee, the committee for the new organ, the committee for the new church, and the art committee. He was a member of the Rotary Club and also served as a past president. He received the Paul Harris Award. Chuck was on the board of directors for the Salvation Army. He was active with the Red Cross. Chuck worked for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He became an agent on March 1, 1950. He became district agent in January 1958, and he became a senior agent in June 1993. Chuck was president of the National District Agents Association from 1976 to 1977. Chuck enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Fond du Lac; two children, Jeff (Michelle) Pike of Charlottesville, Va., and Paula Pike of Milwaukee; three grandchildren, Siena Pike and Jackson and Paul Dumanch; two step-children, Cheryl Nafziger of Washington and Richard (Kristin) Nafziger of Olympia, Wash., two step-grandchildren, Tess and Mia; one step-great-granddaughter, Luna; one sister, Faye Mosigin of Madison; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Barbara.
Visitation: Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Friends may also call on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
Services: will be held Monday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1225 Fourth St. Road, Fond du Lac. The Rev. Anthony Farina will officiate. Burial will follow at Rienzi Cemetery.
Memorials can be directed in Chuck's name to the First Presbyterian Church of Fond du Lac.
