Haskins, age 92, died on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at Oregon Manor. She was born on Oct. 9, 1911, in Platteville, the daughter of Harry and Caroline (Weigel) Steinhoff. Hazel married Ivan Haskins on Aug. 29, 1931, in Platteville. She worked as a legal secretary in Milwaukee for many years. After retiring, Hazel moved to Oregon. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Oregon. Hazel enjoyed doing latchhook. She is survived by four children, Joyce (Robert) Haskins-Kienast, John (Elizabeth) Haskins, Judith Haskins and Karen Fessler; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; her parents; and a brother, Harold Steinhoff. Graveside services will be held at GAYS MILLS CEMETERY, Gays Mills, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oregon Manor.
