Gaffney, Wesley Charles (b. 15 SEP 1901, d. 6 NOV 1969)

Note: Wesley had lost an eye in an accident as a youth, so during World War 1, he could not serve in active duty and elected to work in a factory in Waukesha, Wis. He also worked on the Railroad for a brief period. After he was married, Wesley owned and operated a Mobil gas station in Oxford for the rest of his life.

He and his brother, Guy, married sisters, Effie and Emma Drew.

Burnham, Thomas Major (b. 20 FEB 1749/50, d. 7 MAR 1833)

Note: Major Burnham graduated at Harvard 1772; appointed teacher of Ipswich Grammar School 1774, in which office he continued 5 yrs, when he entered the army, in which he attained the rank of Major. At the
restoration of peace he resumed the office of teacher, and kept the school at different times until 1817 - in all 23 yrs.
