Mills, Armina (b. 12 OCT 1823, d. 10 DEC 1895)
Note: Armina was a woman I wish I had met. She was either very unlucky in love, or she was a wild woman.

She was born in 1823 in Canada, daughter of Ruth Averill & Alford [Alfred] Mills.

First, she married Nathaniel Emmes on 08 Oct 1843 in Lake Co., OH and they had 7 children: Nathaniel, Samuel, Charles, Alfred, Charlotte, Mary Amanda and Rosalie. Armina & Nathaniel were supposedly divorced on 26 Sep 1865.

Next, she must have married some man named McDowell or McDuval.

Then she married Jonathan "Russell" Haskins on 06 Dec 1870 in Deerfield, Waushara Co. He was born about 1807, the son of Reuben & Elizabeth Haskins. He was a lot older than Armina, so he may have died, but somewhere I remember running across a J.R. Haskins living alone and divorced, but right now I can't find that census record.

Then 09 Nov 1885 in Leola, Adams, she married John Wesley Haskins, son of Enoch Haskins and grandson of Reuben & Elizabeth and nephew of Jonathan Russell Haskins. He was born on 17 Mar 1833, so he was 10 years younger than Armina. John W. died 12 Mar 1889 in Deerfield, Waushara, WI.

Armina died 10 Dec 1895 in Fish Lake, Waushara Co. and is buried in the Plainfield Cemetery. Her headstone says Armina Haskins, but had another 6 years to sneak in a marriage or 2.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Johanna (Genie Girolami) Semko; his loving children: Janet, married to Frank Hoover, of Ebensburg, Karen, married to Fred Mazzarella, of Ebensburg, Jo-Ann Semko of Ebensburg, George A., married to Denise (Kopchick), of Colver; grandchildren: Dr. Jason Mazzarella and fiancee, Dr. Kathy Marek, in Virginia, Dr. Jarett Mazzarella and fiancee, Dr. Leslie Morris, in North Carolina, Jeffrey Mazzarella, Kristi Jan Hoover and Ryan Semko, and like-a-daughter, Sue Caldwell; a brother, Charles "Red" (wife, Marge) Semko of Pittsburgh; sisters: Rose Mastrine of Colver and Nellie Woznak of Ebensburg; half brothers: Jim, Steve and John Melnyk; and many nieces and nephews.

George, a World War II veteran, served in the 6th Army Ranger Battalion, Japanese Theater. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Colver, past president of the Holy Name Society, secretary-treasurer and founding member of the Colver Development Corp., co-developer of the A.D. While ending his tour of military duty in Japan, George successfully pitched several baseball games in the Japanese "Mini-World Series."

An avid fisherman, hunter, woodcrafter, carpenter and lover of the outdoors, George shared his loves and skills with his children and grandchildren. He used his skills to assist his children in their many home improvement projects with endless strength, endurance and wisdom. He and his wife, Genie, were No. 1 fans at their grandchildren's sports events, braving all weather challenges.

George's wife has often said of him, "If every man was as kind, loving and compassionate toward his wife and children as he was, this would be a better world to live in." His wife and family meant the world to him as did he to them. A kinder and gentler man no family has ever been blessed with.
