DELLS - Harold Warren Coon, age 84, of Wisconsin Dells, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at the St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. Harold was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Oxford, to Warren F. and Emma (Nehring) Coon. He attended elementary school in Jackson Township and graduated from the Oxford High School. Harold was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He married Helen Marie Golz on Oct. 1, 1949, in Wisconsin Dells. Harold worked at Badger Ordnance until he started his own construction company with his brother, Tezzie. He loved his work and continued to work until his recent illness. Harold was an avid baseball player and later a fan. He enjoyed watching the Packers, playing golf, gardening, bowling and spending time with his late wife, Helen and his grandchildren. Harold was a member of the Dells-Delton United Methodist Church of Wisconsin Dells, the Wisconsin Dells V.F.W. Post and the Wisconsin Dells American Legion Post No. 187.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen in 2004; his son, David Jones in 2005; and his brother, Chuck. Survivors include his daughter, Kandi Miller of Wisconsin Dells; his granddaughters, Kelli Miller of Seattle, Wash., Sabrina (Michael) Willis of Wisconsin Dells, Danielle Miller of Wisconsin Dells, and Paula (Kevin) Pavelka of Wisconsin Dells; his grandson, Todd D. Jones of Wisconsin Dells; his great-granddaughter, Alexis Miller of Wisconsin Dells; his great-grandsons, Ty-vance Miller of Wisconsin Dells, and Michael Willis of Wisconsin Dells; two sisters, Rowena Kimble of Lake Delton, and Francis Trojan of Wisconsin Dells; and three brothers, Lawrence "Tezzie" (Angie) Coon of Wisconsin Dells, William (Audrey) Coon of Wisconsin Dells, and Robert (Caroline) Coon of Delafield. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at the DAVIS CORNERS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. Pastor Steve Miller will officiate. Interment will be at the Davis Corners Cemetery, Township of Jackson, Adams County, Wisconsin. Military rites will be offered by the Wisconsin Dells American Legion Post No. 187 and Wisconsin Dells V.F.W. Post No. 9387. Visitation will be at DAVIS CORNERS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Roseberry's Funeral Home is assisting the family

WISCONSIN DELLS - Audrey Clara Coon, age 77, of Wisconsin Dells, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at the Beverly Living Center in Wisconsin Dells. Audrey was born June 21, 1929, in Brooks to Ward Raymond and Matilda Alta (Nagles) Lake. She attended school in Brooks, and Rockford, Ill. She married Walter W. Coon on Dec. 20, 1947, in Davis Corners Church. Audrey worked at Badger Ordinance, Ray-o-Vac, and several Wisconsin Dells area restaurants. Audrey enjoyed crocheting, needle point, traveling with her family to Arizona, helping family and friends, and a special love for her dog "Snapper." Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Ward Raymond and Matilda (Nagles) Lake; a son, Alan W. Coon; six brothers Clarence, Stanley, Glenn, Arthur, Robert, and Raymond Lake; and two sisters, Alice Frazer and Leota Wicker. She is survived by her husband, Walter W. Coon of Wisconsin Dells; her daughter, Gail Marie (Don) Evans of Westfield; two sons, Larry W. Coon of Wisconsin Dells, and Rick R. (Cherie) Coon of Canton, Mich.; a brother, Frank (Marion) Lake of Briggsville; two sisters, Mary (Fred) Steffan of Adams, and Grenneth (Nels) Nelson of Arkdale; seven grandchildren, Marci, Wendi, Traci, Michelle, Jessica, Paul, and Ashley; four great-grandchildren, Brooke, Cameron, Padon, Riley. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at the DAVIS CORNERS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Davis Corners. Pastor Steve Miller will officiate. Interment will be at the Davis Corners Cemetery, Town of Jackson. Visitation will be at the DAVIS CORNERS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
