Weller, Daniel (b. 19 MAY 1760, d. 9 JUN 1829)
Note: DANIEL WELLER was born in Sharon, CT. At fifteen years of age, in January 1776, he enlisted in the Revolution and served for one year; he enlisted again in 1777 and served for another yea.r After his service was over in 1778 he had obvious intentions of settling down as within a year he had bought land and was married. On12/22/1778 he bought ten acres of land in Sharon for ?20 from Barnabas Wood, however almost immediately after the purchase of this property he moved to Lenox, MA. While living in Lenox on 3/29/1781 he sold this land back to Wood for ?15. In Lenox on 8/18/1779 he married LUCINDA TREAT; the wedding was performed by Rev. Samuel Munson. Lucinda's brother, Ashbel, and cousin, Cornelius Treat, (son of Ashbel's brother Timothy) witnessed the wedding. Lucinda was the daughter of Ashbel Treat and Dorcas Goodrich.Dorcas Goodrich and Meriam Goodrich, Daniel Weller's mother, were sisters, making Daniel and Lucinda first cousins.
In May of 1781 he again enlisted in the Continental Army. Dan and his family moved to Fort Ann, N.Y. sometime between 1790 and 1800 as he first appears in Ft. Ann in the 1800 census. However the 1860 census of Dan's son Ira (born 1787) lists his birthplace as Conn.; possibly Dan moved from Lenox back to Sharon before settling in Fort Ann. On 4/30/1818 he started receiving Revolutionary War pension benefits at the rate of $8per month. On June 9, 1829 at the age of 69 Dan drowned in Wood Creek near battle Hill in Fort Ann. After his death his widow Lucinda filed for his pension benefits and her benefits started 9/4/1837 at the same rate of $8 per month. After Dan's death in the 1840 census Lucinda is listed as the head of her own household, but by 1850 she is obviously unable tocare for herself anymore and living in the household of her son William Weller; she died two years latter at the age of 90 from cancer on the face.
"Until 1781 Daniel and Lucinda lived in Lenox, Mass for at least during most of this time Daniel was in the Army and Lucinda probably remained with her family. Later they returned to Connecticut and probably lived in Sharon as their first four children were baptised in the Sharon Congregational Church. These were Nancy, John, Ira and zilpha. The fifth child, Lucinda, was born June 2nd, 1792 in Vermont probably at the home of Lucinda's sister Amy who married Deacon Philemon Wolcott and lived in Shoreham, Vermont. The remaining children Miriam, Samuel, Henry, William, Chloe and Eliza were probably born at Westfield, now called Fort Ann."

Note: From Dahlke Brewring Co. History:
The Dahlke family built the brewery themselves and Gustav was the superintendent during the construction. Ironically, the brewery construction continued with its accidents. On September 25, 1933, Walter Brose was hit in head by a brick while it was being unloaded. Three days later, Aloise Swader's truck skidded off the highway. The truck was so loaded with bricks the truck smashed a telephone pole and hit a tree. Swader suffered two broken legs, two broken ribs, broken pelvis, and several joints cracked. The next day, Arthur Grahn was injured while building the brewery as he fell into nail keg from 4 feet above, wheeling concrete. Gustav Dahlke himself suffered torn ligament of his right leg while raising plank and stepping upstairs on August 30, 1933.

In 1905, the family moved to Westfield, Marquette, Wis. where Nels worked for a couple of different businesses and about 1906, he started his own store located on north Main Street where the Variety Store was years later. He had a candy counter, ice cream parlor and sold groceries and bread.
