Matteson, Asa (b. , d. 10 MAY 1858)

Note: In the spring of 1824, Asa Matteson and family removed to Fairfield, Herkimer county, and continued there till March 1, 1830, when the family moved to Exeter, Otsego County, where Mr. and Mrs. Asa Matteson died. Asa followed farming. He died May 10, 1858, and Mrs. Asa Matteson died Jan. 4, 1863, at the home of her son,
A. Alonzo.

Richmond, Alvah (b. 26 AUG 1802, d. 25 OCT 1860)
Note: They emigrated to Clinton County, Mich., about 1838, braved the privations of pioneer life, and acquired a competency. His farm, one of the finest in that section, is now (1896) the property of his son, Irvin D. Richmond.

Richmond, Edward (b. 5 AUG 1736, d. 1804)
Note: He was a farmer. He went to Woodstock, Conn., thence to Stamford, Vt. He sold his farm, and received in payment Continental money, losing thus his entire property. His family became scattered, his sons going into the wilderness as pioneers, and most of them were very successful.
