Note: PJ: 12/26/1916: Mrs. Rhoda A. Vandewark Haskin, wife of Warren Haskin, died at 5 o’clock Monday afternoon at the home at Maple Springs, aged 69 years, 8 months and 15 days. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Charles A., Ora A., and Claude D. Haskin, all of Ellery; two daughters, Mrs. Henry E. Scheller of Sherman and Mrs. Charles D. Hoyt of Ellery, and one sister, Mrs. S. S. Haskin of Chautauqua. The funeral will be held from the late home at 1 o’clock Thursday afternoon.

Haskin, 77, proprietor of the Whiteside Summer Resort here, died at his home Wednesday at 4 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie Haskin; a son, Russell Haskin, and a daughter Mrs. Marion Rodier, all of Maple Springs; two brothers, Charles A. Haskin of St. Petersburg, Fla and Claude D. Haskin of Maple Springs, and three grandchildren. He was born in the Town of Ellery and spent his entire lifetime within its borders, being engaged for many years in farming. He was a member of Bemus Point Lodge IOOF, and of the Bemus Point Fire Department, which he had served as president for several years. Funeral services will be held at the family home on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. A. C. Howe of Bemus Point officiating. Interment will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
