Note: Samuel5 Comstock is believed to be a heretofore unrecorded son of Gideon Comstock.
Colony of Connecticut, New London, Aug. 24, 1746, then mustered in Capt. Robert Denison's Company in the Regiment of Foot, of which Hon. Elisha Williams is Colonel, raised for an expedition against Canada, the muster being for 76 days commencing June 10, 1746, and ending Aug. 24, 1746. Gideon Comstock was Sergeant, having enlisted July 9, 1746. There were 106 or 107 in this Company. Among the privates is Samuel Comstock, enlisted July 3, 1746, and George Chappel, enlisted July 9, 1746.
A roll of this Company, commencing April 25, 1747, and ending June 24 following contains the same names except for the omission of Serg't Gideon Comstock, he having died March 17, 1746-7.

Note: Gideon Comstock, Sergeant in Capt. Robert Denison's Co., enlisted July 9, 1746, for expedition against Canada. New London, Conn. Gideon Comstock fell out of a canoe and was drowned. (In the C. B. Comstock Genealogy he is confused with his son.) His widow married (2nd) John Bishop, son of Eleazer and Sarah (Dart) Bishop, and moved to Horton, Nova Scotia. Gideon lived in Montville, Conn.
