Note: Abner is said to have served in the War of 1812. He was of Brownsville, Jefferson, NY in 1810; of Gerry, Chautauqua, NY in 1812 and removed about 1829 to Dayton, Cattaraugus, NY. It is said that he had 10 children.
History of Cattaraugus: "Abner Comstock, a Canadian by birth, came to Dayton in 1829, and died in 1859. He had ten children by two marriages, among them being David, who was born in Persia, and married a daughter of Ranson Remington, by whom he had five children."
