The interment was in Lewis Cemetery.The Haskin name is sometimes recorded as Haskins.Gravestones in Lewis Cemetery of the Haskin family were in fair condition in 1965.

Oliver Haskin died at his home in Bemus Point yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Cecella P. Haskin; four sons, Fred G. Haskin of Bemus Point; Emmett Haskin of Hartfield; William Haskin of Whittier, Cal.; Walter Haskin of Ellery; two daughters, Mrs. Berdell Loomis of Bemus Point and Mrs. Goldie Hall of North East, Pa. The funeral will be held at the Bemus Point Methodist Episcopal Church tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon at 2:30 PM.

Nov. 14....Funeral services for the late Oliver Haskin were held at the Methodist Church at 2:30 PM yesterday, preceeded by a prayer service at the home. Rev. C. A. Williams officiated at both services and Bemus Point Lodge No.585 I.O.O.F. also held its service both at the church and at the village cemetery where the interment took place. Music was furnished by Mrs. Myrtle Johnson, Mrs. Izora Thompson, Mrs. Leah Skillman and Mrs. Lena Haskin. The bearers, all grandsons of the deceased were Harold Haskin, Oscar Loomis, Earl Dake, Clarence Hooper, Howard Russ and Chester Mills. The granddaughters carried the numerous beautiful floral offerings to the cemetery and the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs attended as a body. Present from a distance werre Mr. and Mrs. Chester Mills and son of Freeville, NY and Charles Sill of Olean.

PJ: 3/14/1925: Israel Haskin, who served in the Civil War with Company E, 112th New York Volunteer Infantry, died yesterday morning at 11:30 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. W. Thompson at Bemus Point. His age was 81 years, 11 months and 20 days. Beside his daughter, he is survived by a son. B. G. Haskin of Bemus Point; a granddaughter, Edith Haskin of Bemus Point, two brothers, Oliver Haskin of Bemus Point and Sidney Haskin of Chautauqua; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Wood, Mrs. Minnie Hall, and Mrs. Cornelia Ingerson of Maple Springs. The funeral will be held from the home of his daughter Friday at 2 p.m.....The funeral of Israel Haskin was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Izora Thompson, Friday at 2 p.m., Rev. S. T. Davison, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating, assisted by Rev. M. V. Stone, chaplain of James M. Brown Post G.A.R., of Jamestown, who spoke of his association with Mr. Haskin while both were members of the 112th Regiment, New York Volunteers in the Civil War. The bearers were Claude Haskin, Ora Haskin, Fred Haskin, Frank Putnam, George Ingerson, Floyd Ingerson. Interment was in Bemus Point Cemetery beside his wife.
