Kitzmiller, Edward (b. ABT 1831, d. BEF 1863)

Note: Edward must have died prior to 1863 when Samantha married his father, Samuel. On the 1870 census, Samantha was living with Samuel and E.J. in Ogle Co, IL. Edward may have served and/or died in the Civil War.

In 1880, Samuel was living in Brookville, Ogle Co., Illinois with his brother, David, and listed his occupation as "blacksmith".

In 1880, Samantha was living with her son, Edwin and Rosa, in Rockford, Winnebago Co., Illinois and was listed as widowed/divorced.

Miles, Samantha (b. 22 JAN 1830, d. 1890)

Note: Possibly her husband, Edward, had been killed or was serving in the Civil War. She married Edward's father, Samuel, in 1863, a few months after Samuel's wife, Mary, died. Her name on her marriage record was "Samantha Miles".

They must have been living in New London, Wis. at the time because Mary in buried there and Samantha & Samuel were married there.

In 1870, Samantha and her son, "Edwin" were living in Ogle Co, Illinois with her father-in-law, Samuel. In 1880, Samuel was living with his brother, David, in Ogle Co., Illinois and listed his marital status as "single". Samantha was living with her son, E.J. and his wife, Rose and her marital status was "widowed".

New London cemetery records indicate she was buried in 1890.
