Death of James L. GORSLINE
James L. GORSLINE died on Sunday, October 14, 1883, at his home in the town of Buffalo, at the advanced age of about 77 years. He died of a complication of diseases, his heart and lungs troubling him for some time past. Besides these he has been troubled for years with that incurableand terrible disease, asthma. Although he had been in feeble health for a number of years, his death was sudden and unexpected. He leaves a wife and six grown up children to mourn his loss.
Mr. GORSLINE was born and brought up in Vermont, and from there he moved to Newark Valley, New York, where he married and lived for 14 years, when he removed to Pennsylvania and resided there for 18 years. In the fall of 1859, he came to Wisconsin and settled on the farm where he died. He was thrice married, two of his wives preceding him to the better land.
While most men have enemies, we have never heard of a single person who was an enemy of Mr. GORSLINE's. He was always kind and obliging to his neighbors, and in his dealings was always honest and upright.
Mr. GORSLINE was buried on Tuesday last, in the burying ground in eastern Buffalo, a very large number of people showing their respect by attending the funeral. Rev. A. Torbet, of this village, conducted the services. Thus it is, one by one the old residents are passing away.
