Note: Andrew was a sailor in the U.S. Navy, enlisted in New York and served on the steamer "Dow". He became very ill and went to live with his sister, Isabella, in Ontario, York, Canada. He died from tuberculosis and is buried in Ontario, Canada.

McGregor, Andrew John (b. 14 FEB 1799, d. ?)
Note: In 1842, Andrew McGregor, his wife, Margaret, and 3 children, sailed from Scotland to New York arriving on June 14, 1842. They made their home in Arlington, Mass. northwest of Boston where Andrew worked as a printer. He applied his naturalization papers on Nov. 5, 1850 and became a citizen on Nov. 5, 1852. Andrew and Margaret moved to Canada to be near his relatives.
