Johnson, John (b. 1633, d. 29 AUG 1708)
Note: On August 29, 1708, at age 76, he, his wife, Ruth (wife of Thomas Johnson), and many others were killed at the excision of Haverhill, then a compact hamlet of about 30 houses, by the French and Indians from Canada. As a girl, Ruth had been a captive among the Indians, who, March 15, 1696/7, murdered her father and mother and her two sisters. At the time of her death, Ruth held in her arms her only child, Lydia, age 1 year, 6 days old. The child escaped the tomahawk, concealed perhaps in the folds of her mother's dress.

Parmenter, William (b. ABT 1563, d. ABT DEC 1617)
Note: William inherited the lands of Tankerton and Busheleyes by the will of his father, and the copyhold lands of Cowell alias Gouldwell from his brother, George, in 1613. Manorial rent records show him as the tenant for Tankerton in Little Yeldham in 1611. Court rolls for the manor of Tilbury-Juxta-Clare indicate that he lived at that manor for a period of years prior to moving to Little Yeldham.

William Parmenter of Over Yeldham, husbandman, was "weak of body" when he made his will on October 12, 1613. He named, among others, his son John Parmenter and John's children, John and Mary, both under 21 years of age.
Baptism: 7 JAN 1562/63 Ovington, Essex, England
Death: ABT DEC 1617 Little Yeldham, Essex, England
