Note: Came in the "Confidence" from Southampton, England in 1638 with Edmund Kerley who may have been a uncle or brother. He was a freeman in 1666. He was man of some prominence in the colony, having land assigned him at Pedocks Island, Nantasket, in 1642. He was a proprietor of Marlboro in 1657 and a selectman for years. At one time, he was sent as representative. In 1667, he was appointed by the General Court to lay out land between Concord, Lancaster and Groton.
