The family moved to Cedar Grove, Wisconsin in 1923 where her father started a dry goods store, which later became a grocery store. She attended grade school in Cedar Grove and graduated from Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove in 1935. She started to work in her fathers store as a clerk when she was 15 and continued to do so until she was married in 1939.

She was married on February 24, 1939 to Eugene B. Wissink of Baldwin, WI at her parent's home in Cedar Grove. Together they had four children. Their first year of married life was spent on the Fidler Farms of Bartlett, IL. where Eugene was a farm operator.

In 1942, they moved to Hingham, WI. where Eugene worked as a technician for Western Condensing Company in Adell, WI. They moved to Baldwin, WI. in Dec. of 1948 where they took over the family dairy farm upon the death of Eugene's dad, Herman Wissink, and continued to live there until April, 1982 and then moved to 700 Oak St., Baldwin. Bonnie and Eugene lived there until his death in Feb. 1998. Bonnie then moved to the Birchwood Apartments in Baldwin. She became a resident of the Baldwin Care Center in January, 2002.

Bonnie was a member of the First Reformed Church of Baldwin and active in the Church Circle, an active member of the Sunnyside School Club and the neighborhood homemakers club.
