Note: Micah served in the French-Indian War. He is on the enlistment roll in 1757. Micah Hoskins is listed in "MASS. OFFICERS.... in the FRENCH and INDIAN WARS" book 6, as a private from May 21, 1755 to Nov. 20, 1755 in the Spencer Phips Company
1756: Micah [sic Micha] appears on a deed for land in Alford, Berkshire, Mass. dated 29 Oct. 1756 along with his brothers, Anthony and Daniel, and Stephen Kelsey, Jr. Alford came from part of Great Barrington, Mass. in 1773, which is where Anthony and Rhoda Goodrich were married. [Micah was 21 years old] For the next few years, Micah probably lived in Alford, Berkshire, Mass.
In Oct. 29, 1756, Joseph Quinequant and Shauanum of the Stockbridge Indians conveyed land [in Alford, Berkshire, Mass.] to Timothy Woodbridge, Stephen Kelsey Sr., Ebenezer Hamlin, John Hamlin, Robert Watson, Ebenezer Warner, Eliatha Rew, Elnathan Bronson, Anthony Hoskins, Michah Hoskins, Jonah Fortin, Stephen Kelsey Jr., Simon Cook, and Daniel Kelsey. Between 1765 and 1775 the early settlers also included Benoni [Hopkins] Hoskins and Noah [Hopkins] Hoskins,[4 of the Hoskins brothers migrated to Alford, Berkshire, Mass.] A second purchase called the Green Land Grant added 15,000 acres the same year.
============
By 1790, there were no Hoskins/Haskins in Alford, Berkshire, Mass.
Micah appears on the 1790 census for German Flats, Herkimer Co, NY. There are 2 males over 16 and 2 females in the household.

Portlandvllle & Vicinity
The first settler in this Vicinity was John Moore of Cherry Valley who settled on the farm now owned by James Ferguson (better known as the Benj. Westcott farm). Mr. Moore commenced on this place about 1789. He constructed a log house after the usual style of log houses covered with bark. It had puncheon floor. He commenced like all new settlers by felling the forest trees, & clearing the land for the purpose of raising cereals & other crops to support his family, with the expectation of growing up with the country & at some future time becoming rich & prosperous. Mr. Moore retained his farm for several years & sold to Micah Baskins about 1794. He removed to the upper end of town, purchased a farm (now owned & occupied by Dorr Sweet) and remained on it for a long time.
William Stevens purchased the same farm of Mr. Micah Haskins in 1798 who emigrated from Mass. Mr. Stevens was a Cooper by trade & conducted a business & carried on both occupations. He remained on the farm until 1801 when he resold to Mr. Haskins & purchased a large wilderness farm on the hill about three miles distant from the one he sold. This Country at that time was an almost unbroken wilderness; no settlement north of Mr. Haskins for about three miles to Jacob Brewer on the west side of the river.
Col. Joseph Mumford purchased a tract of wild land north of Mr. Haskins which embraced all the land as far north as the Samuel Russel farm. this purchase was made in 1803. The entire village of Portlandville stands upon this plot of land. Soon after he constructed a good sized frame house & occupied it for several years, then removed to Milford Centre & his son Archy occupied the vacant house.
1805: In or about 1805 Benjamin Westcott purchased the farm owned & occupied by Micah Haskins & in addition to farm carried on Blacksmithing. [Micah was age 70]
==================
1800: He was living in Milford, Otsego, NY with a wife and a son, 10-16 - probably David.
===============
1803: "Whitney valley was first settled by a Mr. Putman and his two sons, Peter and Jacob, followed by four families by the name of Haskins [David Haskins, Micah Haskins, Roswell Haskins and widow Lydia Haskins and her sons], about the year 1803." [Source: History of Allegany Co, NY, F.W. Beers & Co.]
"David and Micah Haskins located in Whitney Valley in 1803. The name of David Haskins appears in the old town records of Canisteo for the years 1801 to 1810 inclusive, which indicates he held some town offices. Roswell Haskins also settled in the valley in 1803. He was elected one of the two first overseers of the poor. Enos Seward arrived in 1806 with his wife, the widow of Nathaniel Haskins. [this is probably not true-they were probably married after coming to Almond, NY] They were accompanied by two sons of Mrs. Seward be her former marriage, Eri and David Haskin." [Source: History of Almond, NY]
In 1808, Micah was elected as an Overseer of Highways for Alfred, Allegany Co., NY
According to the Jewell Genealogy, Abigail Jewell married Nathan Haskins. Micah's name may have been Micah Nathan or Nathan Micah.

Note: "Nathaniel Haskin resided at Brookfield, Madison Co, NY where he married Lydia Stevens, and died there May 15, 1805. They had two children, Eri and David. Mrs. Haskin married second, Enos Seward and in 1806, moved to Almond, Allegany Co, New York." [Allegany Co. And It's People, John Minard, 1896]
NOTE: It appears that Enos moved to Almond in 1806 with Tarbell Whitney where he met and married the widow, Lydia [Stevens] Haskins.
So far, the only documentation that Nathaniel is David Haskins' father is in local history books for Allegany Co. David named one of his sons Enos Seward Haskins, after his step-father, Enos Seward. David also lived next door to Enos and Lydia in Almond, New York. His half-brother, Enos Seward, Jr. moved to Wis. with him.
I have not been able to find how Nathaniel died or when his 2 sons were born or where. Probably they were born in Madison County, NY.
"...Putnam was followed by 1803 by David, Micah and Roswell Haskins and in 1806 by Enos Seward and family and Tarbell Whitney the same year with his wife and sons Ami, William and Rufus." [History of Almond, NY]

Note: From The Sabbath Recorder:
Mrs. Sally Haskins, who in a few days would have been 98 years old - died 17 March 1878 in Alfred, Allegany Co., NY. The deceased came from Connecticut to Brookfield, [Madison] NY and then moved to Almond when this country was a wilderness. Her husband, Michael [sic] Haskins, frequently saw General Washington, and must have been acquainted with a large share of the early settlers of this country, as he kept a tavern for nearly a quarter of a century. This aged sister retained her faculties to a remarkable degree. Only about a year ago since she could recall many of the incidents of her early life. She was 19 years old when General Washington died. The circumstances of his death and memorial service on the occasion, were brought down in her memory till within a few years. For about forty years she has lived with her daughter, [Jane Crandall] who promised to bury her with her husband and relatives in the old burying place in Almond. She was ripe and waiting for the harvest.
There were lots of Hazeltines in Independence, Allegany, NY in 1860.
