Nute, Obed (b. 21 OCT 1773, d. 13 APR 1814)
Note: In 1810, he was living in Painted Post, Steuben Co., NY next door to Joseph Stevens, Jr. According to the census he had 4 sons under 10 and 2 sons ages 10-16.

He died in the War of 1812 and his widow filed for a pension after his death.

Stevens, Benjamin (b. 17 APR 1713, d. 1787)
Note: Captain Benjamin Stephens/Stevens was born at Plainfield, Conn., April 17, 1713. He was living in Canaan November 17, 1743, and was admitted an inhabitant December 12, 1743. He was surveyor of highways in 1745; selectman and tithing-man in 1749; and served in the French and Indian War as Ensign in Lt. Col. Tarbal Whitney's Company at the relief of Fort William Henry, New York, in August 1757. He was a representative from Canaan in the Colonial Legislature 1764, 1765, 1767, 1768, 1769.
