Mrs. Cordelia Ann Haskins died Sept. 26, 1897 in the Haney Valley. She was born Aug. 20, 1825 in Massachusetts. Nee Powers. Married J. F. Haskins on Sept. 26, 1846. She had 8 children. Two daughters predeceased her. Survived by husband and 6 children: Loren and Lemy Haskins of Sioux City, IA; L. S. Haskins of Haney Valley; Mrs. Emma Bateman of Haney Valley; Mrs. Eva Brindley of Blue River and Mrs. Minnie Brindley of Haney. (per page 1, column 5, Nov. 11, 1897)

Note: Came to America on the "Lyon's Whelp" from Gravesend [London] on 25 April 1629 and landed at Salem in mid-July. First lived in Salem, Watertown, Charlestown [1632], Hingham, Mass in 1636; New London, Conn. in 1646; Stonington, Conn. by 1655. Both his wife, Grace, and his son, John, could understand the Algonquian language.

He was a Lieut. in King Philip's Ware in 1676; Assist. Magistrate in 1649;

He was listed as a passenger on Gov. Wintrop's fleet: WILLIAM CHEESEBROUGH of Boston, Lincolnshire to Boston, Rehoboth with: Mrs. Anne, Sarah, Peter, Samuel and Nathaniel Cheesebrough
